The Joyful Mysteries

The Joyful Mysteries focus on the joyful events of Jesus's life. They allow us to meditate on the incarnation of Jesus Christ and the early years of his life, beginning with the Annunciation and concluding with the Finding of Jesus in the Temple.

Traditionally, the Joyful Mysteries are prayed on Mondays and Saturdays.

1

The Annunciation

"The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. (Luke 1:26-27)"

In this mystery, we meditate on the angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary that she will conceive and bear a son, Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
